“A place to ask the questions about the maths that you are just not sure about … Just knowing that you are not alone in a sea of maths, this course is a life line.”

Farlingaye High School, Wymondham College and  Sir Isaac Newton have joined together to provide Mathematics subject knowledge and pedagogy training for non-specialist teachers of Maths in Suffolk and Norfolk.

Each session focuses on a particular topic of the mathematics curriculum or a specific mathematical pedagogy. Emphasis, in particular, is placed on the five key “golden threads” of excellent maths teaching: on the importance of conceptual understanding of topics, developing your knowledge of the connections between different mathematical topics and providing you with an understanding of how to develop student’s fluency, reasoning and problem solving in maths. Our trainers will help you to understand the misconceptions that students face when learning mathematics to enable you to deliver the KS2, KS3 and 9-1 GCSE curriculums with confidence.
